Vaccinations
How students and staff can book a Covid-19 vaccination.
Getting your vaccination
Everyone aged 16 and over living in the UK is eligible for a free Covid-19 vaccination, regardless of their nationality or immigration status
You should get your vaccination as soon as you are able.
Booster vaccinations
A booster dose of the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine helps improve the protection you have from your first two doses of the vaccine. It helps give you longer-term protection against getting seriously ill from Covid-19.
Booking a Covid-19 vaccination
You can book a vaccine appointment at any vaccination centre convenient to you.
NHS England has published a document containing FAQs about student Covid-19 vaccinations in England, including questions about international student vaccinations.
Vaccine guidance for international students
International students who live in the UK will be able to access the Covid-19 vaccine for free.
If you have only partially completed your vaccination (for example one dose) you will be able to access the second dose here in the UK.
If you have already had both doses of a vaccine, you will not be required to have any further doses (unless you are eligible for any booster programme).
You do not need to register for a UK GP surgery to receive your vaccine in the UK. However we strongly recommend registering with our University Health Service as soon as possible upon arrival in Sheffield, so you can access help if you get poorly.
If you have received a first dose of Covid-19 vaccine overseas that is also available in the UK, you should receive the same vaccine for your second dose. If the vaccine you received for your first dose is not available in the UK, the most similar alternative should be offered. For further information, please refer to NHS England's guidance:
