The Inorganic Semiconductor Group is active in a variety of topical areas in semiconductor physics, photonics and quantum technologies.

The activities of the group encompass both fundamental and applied research with considerable focus in recent years on highly topical areas of quantum science and technology. There are over 80 personnel active in Semiconductor research in Sheffield, making it one of the largest groupings in the UK.

The research of the group is supported by EPSRC, UKRI, EU, Leverhulme and Royal Society.
