I manage the laboratories and technical team for the Archaeology Department, in which we carry out analysis and research on a variety of things from human skeletons, animal skeletons, soils, plants, metals, ceramics and glass. I also deliver and support teaching in Archaeological Science, with my specialism being in metals and experimental archaeology.

I like being able to support students getting hands on with research and support them in carrying out experiments and analysis.

Laboratory Manager and Teaching Technician in the Department of Archaeology

I completed my masters and I am now studying towards my PHD within the Archaeology Department at Sheffield and I have become passionate about analysis and archaeological research. After gaining more experience in analysis, archaeological research and health and safety I decided I wanted to work for an academic department supporting student learning and academic research. I was very excited to be able to do that back at the University of Sheffield.
