Our governance model

Our governance model to progress work in support of the Technician Commitment includes a steering group and delivery group.

Off

To progress work in support of the Technician Commitment, we have a University leadership group and delivery group. Overall, the groups aim to:

  • Increase the visibility of technicians at the University and beyond

  • Further the recognition of technicians through promoting professional registration

  • Consider aspects related to career development opportunities of technicians

  • Ensure sustainability of the University's activities through retaining and promoting technical skills and expertise

  • Evaluate the impact and outcome of the activities pursued by working group and the University in connection to the Technician Commitment

  • Share best practice with other institutions and take a lead in setting best practice against the Technician Commitment


Technical Leadership Group

Our steering group reports directly to the University Executive Board and is responsible for setting priorities and overseeing work activities. The group is chaired by our Director of Human Resources, Ian Wright. Membership includes:

  • Nick Sparks, Deputy Faculty Director of Operations for Engineering
  • Neil Harris, Faculty Director of Operations for Health
  • Anna Clements, Director of Library Services
  • Professor Neil Sims, Faculty Director of One University for Engineering

  • Beth Asquith, HR Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Group 

Technical Delivery Group

Our delivery group reports to the leadership group. The group is chaired by Penny Jackson, Faculty Director of Operations for Science. Membership includes:
