The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering is looking for some new student ambassadors.
Becoming an ambassador is a great way to add valuable experience to your CV and Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR). Ambassadors are an important part of our departmental team. By joining us you’ll get the chance to represent the department, work with others, and help to inspire the next generation of engineers at our open days.
Apply to become a student ambassador
Please note that you are welcome to apply to become a Student Ambassador for the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering even if you are already working as an ambassador in another capacity for the Faculty or University - for example, if you are already holding a position as an International Engineering Ambassador, a Faculty Champion, or as a Digital Ambassador.
What do Student Ambassadors do?
Student Ambassadors support the department simply by being themselves! They meet with prospective students, share their experiences of living and studying in Sheffield and answer questions about life in the city. You are likely to get involved in the following activities when working as a Student Ambassador.
- Taking part in virtual open day events and live Q&A sessions
- Attending open day events on campus and meeting prospective students
- Helping out at recruitment and outreach events
- Creating content for social media
- Writing pieces for the online site
Who are we looking for?
- Current students in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at any level (Undergraduate, Masters, PhD)
- Approachable, enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Confident speaking to individuals and large groups
- Reliable, organised and punctual
Open Days
We have many Open Days from June - November so some student ambassadors will need to be available over the Summer Break. Most open days are on Saturdays so student ambassadors will need to be available to work on Saturdays.
