Seetal Jutla

I am an experienced coach and mentor with over 15 years’ experience working with young people in the voluntary and education sector. I trained as a counsellor after completing a BSc (Hons) Counselling and Therapeutic Studies and have always been a passionate advocate for promoting and empowering young people to make an informed decision about their future.

I've worked in Outreach and Widening Participation for a number of years, and was recently appointed to the role of Widening Participation Officer (BAME Access and Partnerships) as well as being the lead contact for schools in the London and East Midlands region for our partnership with The Elephant Group. I am an active member of the university’s Race Equality Steering Group and as part of the Race Equality Strategy and Action Plan we are working to address our representation and encourage more students from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds to apply to Sheffield.

I work closely with current BAME students to ensure that Sheffield is promoted as a diverse and inclusive place to live and study, and help foster a sense of belonging in our wonderful and vibrant city.  

When I’m not working, I like to spend time with family and friends, enjoying life and the great outdoors!
