Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering
- Profile
-
I have worked as a University Teacher in the Department since completing my PhD degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Sheffield in 2019. My EPSRC funded research project was focused on the design and modelling of miniaturised multiband electromagnetic periodic metamaterial structures for small antenna applications.
Prior to my PhD, I obtained my MSc degree with distinction from the University of Glamorgan. My first degree was a BEng in Electrical Engineering, Communications and Electronics, which was awarded at a GPA of 89.3% from Beirut Arab University (BAU).
I am also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a member of the IEEE, IEEE Women in Engineering, and Women's Engineering Society. Outside of my teaching and research activities, I am active within equality, diversity and inclusion work in the department, and am lead coordinator for the department's annual Girls into Electronics event. I also represent the department on the University of Sheffield's race equality group.

My teaching philosophy is focused on implementing forward thinking teaching methods and techniques to inspire and empower young engineers.
With my current role as a University Teacher, at the University of Sheffield, I am particularly interested in implementing my teaching philosophy while applying my knowledge and experience, as an engineer and researcher.
I carry out pedagogical research aiming to develop innovative teaching methods that enable inclusive and sustainable curriculum design and development. My teaching responsibilities are focused on teaching modules both at undergraduate and MSc levels.
