Studying at Sheffield is a once in a lifetime experience

What made you choose to study at Sheffield and your course?

Sheffield offered a unique course which provided the opportunity to combine two areas that were of interest to me, Anatomy and Education. I chose Sheffield because of its prestigious reputation and its ranking as one of the best universities across the UK. Additionally, it had the course that would give me the opportunity to fulfil my higher academic education, and widen my career potential.

How did you research the University to find out about studying in Sheffield?

I knew about the University, having gone to different workshops that were held in Baghdad. So when I found a course at Sheffield, I felt excited because it was one of my dreams to study here.

What was your initial impression of Sheffield and the University when you first arrived?

I instantly fell in love with the greenery of the city. People were friendly, helpful and welcoming. As for the University, it exceeded my expectations. The system, the networking, and the huge range of opportunities were fascinating to me. My tutors and colleagues are so supportive, and I am very thankful for the chance to have met such amazing people.

What are the highlights of your experience in Sheffield so far?

The fact that it is a multicultural city, I have met people from different backgrounds and cultures. This has helped me develop my knowledge, and given me the chance to taste delicious food from different cuisines. I also like the weather a lot, although some would disagree, I find it refreshing and beautiful.
