Join our lively community and study your chosen language or languages from our range of ten. We want our students to speak, read and write their language(s) to the highest level and to pursue their own cultural and linguistic interests drawing on the broad expertise available in the School.

Welcome to the School of Languages and Cultures. We are proud of our community of undergraduate and postgraduate students, our inspiring language tutors, and our internationally recognised scholars. We enjoy talking about what we do. And we look forward to talking to you, to hear about what you are looking for, and to answer your questions.

On each of our on-campus undergraduate open days, our main talk and a live Q&A with our staff and student ambassadors will run at 12:00 and 14:00, and you can book your place on the link above.
We will also be running information sessions for each of our languages that can be attended at either 13:00 or 13:30 (these do not require you to book):

International Merit Scholarships
We offer a generous package of financial support for international students including 75 undergraduate scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee and 125 postgraduate taught scholarships worth £5,000 towards the tuition fee. Applications are now open for existing offer holders.
