Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
An additional check after you enter your username and password, to check if it's really you logging in. It’s sometimes called two-factor authentication (2FA)
What is MFA
MFA is an extra check to make sure it’s really you logging in. It’s just like when you log in to online banking.
We use a system called Duo. After you enter your password, you get a prompt from Duo to your mobile device, or a code to enter from a hardware token.
The first time you try to log in to your University IT account, you’ll be prompted to set up MFA.
MFA is mandatory on all University IT accounts.
