Journalism taster session
The session will begin with how to ask the right questions and the best angle for a story. You'll be involved in a mock press conference and encouraged to ask questions, before pulling together a rough plan for a story. We'll wrap up with a Q&A session with out student ambassadors.
Press conference and newswriting workshop
There's a huge story breaking - and you're invited to the press conference. Join former Journalist and award-winning Journalism lecturer Lisa Bradley as she teaches you how to ask the right questions, find the best angle and write engaging news copy. By the end of this session, you'll be on your way to becoming an ace reporter!
Our student ambassadors will also be joining this session, so you'll have the chance to ask any burning questions about life at university and what it's really like to be a trainee journo at the University of Sheffield.
When: Thursday 25th April 2024, 4.15pm - 6pm
Age group: Year 12 and Year 13
Location: Online
Suitable for: Students with an interest in journalism studying any subject, but especially Media, English Literature/Language, Politics and Sociology
