I joined the University of Sheffield in 2021 as a Research Associate in ScHARR. Since then, I have worked on a number of projects, including those relating to the prevention of modern slavery in the UK and those relating to improving equality, diversity and inclusion in research. Currently, I am involved in the evaluation of the Nottinghamshire Healthy Families Programme Parent-Infant Relationship Initiative (PIRi).
I completed my PhD at the University of Sheffield in ScHARR. My project explores factors within a Nigerian teaching hospital contributing to unwanted maternal outcomes. The project also provided an additional layer to our understanding of what underpins contributory factors and proactive risk management within the hospital, as well as additional limitations faced by the hospital due to wider health system weaknesses.
Before starting the PhD, I trained as a nurse and midwife and worked in different departments of Nigerian hospitals and taught nurses and midwives.
