Facilities
Our light and spacious studios provide students with all the design and technical resources they need, as well as panoramic views over Sheffield and out to the Peak District.
The Department of Landscape Architecture is based in the University of Sheffield’s iconic Arts Tower – a spectacular listed building that has had a £36 million refurbishment.
With stunning panoramic views over Sheffield, our studio space forms the heart of your learning and is where you'll participate in workshops, group seminars, tutorials and project reviews.
Each studio is kitted out with state-of-the-art facilities, while our dedicated IT suite and design support ensures students can get to grips with industry standard software.

Studios
As well as being the location in which things are made, studio refers to a place in which collaboration and exchange of ideas can flourish. While each year group has a dedicated studio to use as a social and academic base, all floors are open, to encourage you to mix freely together, in a relaxed environment.
Our studios facilitate digital and messy design practice and are equipped with everything you'll need, including drawing boards, a wireless network and kitchen space. Our two computer suites come supplied with high specification computers, a range of industry standard and specialist software and are supported by an in-house IT expert.
In the Media Unit, you will find a full range of audio, visual and environmental equipment. This includes environmental meters, thermal imaging camera and mixed reality imaging suite. A photography studio is also available for model photography and we offer a fully equipped digital review space.
Watch: our green campus
We timetable teaching across the whole of our campus, the details of which can be found on our campus map. While the majority of teaching takes place within the Arts Tower, teaching may also be timetabled to take place within other departments or central teaching space.
