Energy modelling

Like the supply chain structure, the energy system is very old and requires major adjustments to become more sustainable and comply with new regulations. The world needs to shift its dependency on fossil fuels towards more sustainable options.

Like the supply chain structure, the energy system is very old and requires major adjustments to become more sustainable and comply with new regulations. The world needs to shift its dependency on fossil fuels towards more sustainable options. Alternative energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal and biomass are already in high-demand. The research has also been progressing on the production of hydrogen as an alternative energy source to gas and coal. A combination of different alternative sources might be required to keep industries operating efficiently.

Based on extensive research and life cycle assessment evaluating environmental impacts, developing energy models helps identify the most sustainable solution for decarbonising whole industries. Professor Lenny Koh’s team has extensive capabilities in:

  • Supply chain mapping
  • Sustainability assessment
  • Techno-economic assessment
  • and more.

The team has successfully produced recommendations for the UK government in sectors such as:

  • Aviation (Sustainable aviation fuel)
  • Carbon Capture, Usage and Storage (CCUS)
  • Hydrogen
  • Nuclear
  • Rail
  • Renewable energy
  • Steel.
