We offer the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) . Our involvement in teacher training dates back over fifty years, preparing top graduates for their teaching career.

Our aim is to open minds to the realities and possibilities of teaching and learning by developing reflective, creative and inquiring teachers.

You will develop the skills to become a transformative teacher who will make a positive impact on the outcomes of your pupils. You will have the capacity to become future leaders in the profession.

Our PGCE course prepares students to teach across the secondary age group (11-19 age range) in English, geography, history, mathematics, modern languages and the sciences, including physics with maths.

Learn everything the qualified teacher needs to know about planning, teaching, learning, assessing, policies and processes. Our PGCE includes masters credits, which you could put towards study for an MA Applied Professional Studies in Education.

Lorna PGCE in Geography

Lorna, a teacher at The Farnley Academy in Leeds, was presented with the Gold Plato Award for Teacher of The Year in a Secondary School 2015 at the Pearson Teaching Awards, dubbed the "Oscars for Teachers".
