How we support you

Within the department, we have a dedicated Placements and Employability and External Relations Manager, Amy Woolley, who not only offers CV, covering letter and application support, but can also help you find placements and graduate roles through her network of external employers.

Placements and work experience

Undertaking placements and work experience during your studies is encouraged in order to increase your opportunities for graduate employment, as well as to allow you an insight into your future career. The department sources placement opportunities which are advertised to students, and also supports students in finding their own placements.

Our graduates go on to a range of roles in both the public and private sectors. Graduates roles include town planners, transport planners, urban designers, surveyors, community development workers, regeneration officers, sustainability consultants and housing officers.

International Merit Scholarships

We offer a generous package of financial support for international students including 75 undergraduate scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee and 125 postgraduate taught scholarships worth £5,000 towards the tuition fee. Applications are now open for existing offer holders.
