BA History, part-time

If you would like more flexibility from your studies, our BA History degree is also available part-time. You will study alongside our full-time students but spread your module choices out over 6 years. View course information on the prospectus link below.

History with a foundation year

An integrated programme for students with non-standard entry qualifications, and for mature learners who have been out of formal education for an extended period of time.

You study on a foundation year with our colleagues in the Department of Lifelong Learning and - upon completion with the required results for progression - continue your BA level studies in the Department of History (and dual department, where appropriate).

BA History following an international foundation year

The University of Sheffield International College offers an alternative route for international students interested in progressing to BA History. This is through its International Foundation Year in Business, Social Sciences and Humanities programme. The course is designed to help you develop English language and study skills.

Upon successful completion, you can progress to your chosen undergraduate degree at the University.

International Merit Scholarships

We offer a generous package of financial support for international students including 75 undergraduate scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee and 125 postgraduate taught scholarships worth £5,000 towards the tuition fee. Applications are now open for existing offer holders.
