Accommodation Guarantee 2023-24

If you will be studying full time for the full academic year at the University of Sheffield, you are guaranteed University accommodation, living with University of Sheffield students, providing you submit your accommodation application by 31 August 2023.

It is therefore important that you read the guarantee in full.

First year undergraduate students

If you make the University of Sheffield your Firm choice through UCAS, you will be guaranteed a study bedroom in University Accommodation providing:

• You make Sheffield your Firm choice by no later than 17 July 2023
• You apply for University Accommodation by no later than 28 July 2023

If you make the University of Sheffield your Insurance choice, you accept a study place through Clearing, or you are a Firm offer-holder who did not apply for accommodation by 28 July 2023, you are guaranteed a study bedroom in University accommodation providing:

• You have accepted an Unconditional offer of a study place at the University
• You apply for University accommodation from 17 August 2023 (A Level results day in the UK) and no later than 31 August 2023

Postgraduate students

All postgraduate (taught course and research) students are guaranteed accommodation in University accommodation providing:

• You accept an offer of a study place at the University of Sheffield on an award-bearing course by no later than 28 July 2023
• You have met the conditions of your offer, used your CAS number (if applicable) and submitted your accommodation application by no later than 31 August 2023.

All postgraduates are guaranteed accommodation suitable for single occupancy in subsequent years if they are studying a full-time course lasting more than one year.

Exchange and Visiting students

Exchange and Visiting students studying at Sheffield for a full academic year are guaranteed accommodation in University accommodation if you apply by no later than 28 July 2023.

Students not guaranteed accommodation

Not all students are guaranteed accommodation.

Exchange and Visiting students who require accommodation for one semester only are not guaranteed accommodation. A limited number of study bedrooms are available for students who require accommodation for one semester stays; we would encourage all students to apply for accommodation as early as possible and no later than:

• 28 July 2023 to be considered for a study bedroom in Semester 1
• 14 January 2024 to be considered for a study bedroom in Semester 2

Students with family members can apply to live in one of our family properties. If you would like to be considered for family accommodation, you should apply for accommodation by no later than 31 August 2023. Family accommodation is not guaranteed.
