Among the most popular undergraduate courses at the University, Aerospace Engineering at Sheffield offers prospective students state-of-the-art teaching facilities, industry-standard equipment, and interdisciplinary teaching that has enabled many of our graduates to secure employment for world-renowned engineering firms.

South Yorkshire, and Sheffield in particular, is developing its place as a thriving engineering region with firms such as Rolls-Royce and Boeing investing heavily in the area.

Interdisciplinary students evolve into interdisciplinary engineers, much sought after by the industry.

Our courses have rich and varied contents including work on avionic systems, electronic circuits, control systems and aerospace materials, among many others.

The flexibility of our undergraduate courses means you can choose a range of study options: BEng, MEng or MEng-plus style courses such as a year in industry, year in North America or foundation year.

Should you be in a position to pursue a postgraduate qualification, our newly introduced MSc degrees are a great alternative option to the MEng.

Interdisciplinary Engineering

Aerospace Engineering, Bioengineering, MEng Engineering, and the Science and Engineering Foundation Year (SEFY) are all delivered by an academic teaching unit - Interdisciplinary Engineering.

As our name suggests, we value interdisciplinary learning.  We are different from other departments within the Faculty of Engineering. This difference is also our strength; delivering an expert roster of teaching academics from across the Faculty from departments including Mechanical Engineering, Electronic and Electrical Engineering and Automatic Controls and Systems Engineering.

If you have a query about the course, or anything else, please contact Interdisciplinary Engineering - we'd be very happy to assist you.
