Duty calls so we remain busy gathering funds to eventually be able to move on. In the meantime, we plan to continue to explore the area and share where we go and what we see.

Roberts State Beach (small)

Right on the Monterey Bay, Houghton M. Roberts State Beach became our first stop for relaxing and picture taking.

Cowell Redwoods State Park (small)

Up Highway 9 from Santa Cruz near the small town of Felton, the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park provided another relaxing and enjoyable outing.

Empire Brass

On Thursday evening, March 2, the Carmel Music Society presented a concert by the Empire Brass, one of the finest brass quintets in the world. We skipped a San Lorenzo Valley Community Band rehearsal to attend the performance.

South Valley Symphony

On the evening of Saturday, March 11, we were invited to sit in with the South Valley Symphony for their "Spring is in the Air" concert in Gilroy, CA.

On Saturday, April 1, we spent a relaxing afternoon taking a trip on the Roaring Camp & Big Trees Narrow Gauge Railroad in Felton, CA.

Watsonville Band

On Sunday, April 2, we performed with the Watsonville Band for the first of their annual spring series of concerts, this one in Santa Cruz, CA.

Sunset Theater

On Thursday, April 6, we performed with the Watsonville Band for the second of their annual spring series of concerts, this one in the Sunset Theater of Carmel, CA.

San Lorenzo Valley Community Band

On Saturday, April 8, we performed with the San Lorenzo Valley Community Band at the Pacific Coast Manor in Capitola, CA.

'Mac' McElroy, director of the Watsonville Band

On Wednesday, April 12, we performed with the Watsonville Band for the third of their annual spring series of concerts, this time in Sherwood Hall in Salinas, CA.

On Friday, April 14, the Watsonville Band completed its annual spring series of concerts with its homecoming concert at the Mello Center for the Performing Arts in Watsonville, CA.

On Saturday, April 15, we spent a relaxing afternoon on the beach in Carmel, CA.

Ed Fincke Retirement Banquet (small)

Norm worked as a temp for Monterey-Salinas Transit from February 29 through June 16. During that time MST's Assistant General Manager, Ed Fincke, retired and we attended his retirement banquet.
